In just two days time both Craig CC Caldwell and Mark Cowboy McGrath make the 12,000km trip to the Lakeside Country Club, England to compete in the BDO World Championships. Once again they will be flying the flag for New Zealand darts, this will be CC’s second trip after impressing the BDO with his heavy scoring and I believe the record for the amount of 180s thrown in a first round match, whilst Cowboy himself no stranger to the big time will be making his debut on the Lakeside stage just 3 years after qualifying to play in the PDC worlds at the Alexander Palace making him the first Kiwi to represent on both the BDO and PDC world championships. Both players earned there place to be in the draw by achieving great things in 2017, CC won the New Zealand regional qualifier after an impressive season on the NZDC circuit, Cowboy however took an alternative route, firstly by winning the New Zealand Masters at Kapi Mana to qualify for the Winmau World Masters and then finishing top four in the BDO Worlds qualifier out of 512 entrants to gain his entry into the world stage, certainly nothing to be sniffed at. Both players have played tremendous darts over the last 12 months and we know they will make all of New Zealand proud when they take there place on the world stage, all that is left for us to do is wish them Bon voyage, health and happiness and most of all from all at Maddog Promotions NZ, DartsNZ and Mad on Darts good luck, create memories and go hard out to achieve your goals, may you always be in front! NEW ZEALAND WILL BE WATCHING!
