Canterbury Classic Men’s Singles Winner 2017

Craig Calwell defeated Mark McGrath 6 legs to 4 in the Canterbury Classic men’s final over the weekend. Craig’s winning legs were 19, 15, 13, 22, 18 and 15 darts. Mark hit legs of 13, 18, 15 and 16 darts.

In another good game in the semi final Craig defeated Greg Moss 5 to 4 hitting legs of 17, 15, 14, 17 and 23 darts. Greg hit legs of 19, 18, 18 and 20 darts. A feature of the game was the 180 hitting. Greg hit 6 x 180 and Craig hit 2 x 180. In Craig’s case only one counted. With 180 left he managed to hit 120 with two darts and then with the last dart trying to ¬†get a single 20 to leave tops as a finish he did the unbeleivable and put that third dart in the treble bed also. He still managed to win that leg somehow and take the game . Greg was a bit unfortunate having about 9 darts at the double, with many of them on the wire but not going them in. Hence that last leg was 23 darts.

Play started at 10 am and finished about 5.10 pm
